Three Bardstown men arrested for early morning liquor store burglary

Monday, June 27, 2016, 4:45 p.m. — Three Bardstown men were arrested Monday morning by Bardstown Police following an investigation into a burglary early Monday morning of a Bardstown liquor store.

BurglaryRomero Abisai Martinez, 26, Cruze A. Aqueno, 21, and Michael D. Hagan, 19, all of Bardstown, are charged with burglary, third-degree, for their role in a break-in and burglary of Liquor World, 93 North Salem Dr.

At 5:23 a.m., officers were dispatched to Liquor World, 93 North Salem Dr., after Nelson County Dispatch received a call of an active alarm at the business from their alarm company. Officers responding to the call found the store’s drive-thru window had been broken. Viewing security video at the store, police were able to identify the male subject who threw a rock through the window. Once getting in the business, four males entered the business.

The four suspects were located at 132B Ashberry Dr. When police arrived, one of the men was taken into custody as he tried to flee the rear of the home. The other three suspects were found inside the home, along with several unopened bottles of alcohol and cartons of cigarettes in a pile on the living room floor.

Martinez, Aqueno and Hagan were arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. The fourth suspect, a juvenile, was released to his guardian. The guardian was cited for curfew violations.

Additional charges are pending against Martinez, police said in a press release.
