DORIS ANN SMITH
Doris Ann Smith, 66, of Montgomery, Ala., died Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at her residence. She was a native of Spencer County, born July 4, 1949, to the late Billy Ray and Maude Casey Palmer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Montgomery.
She is survived by her husband, Chief Master Sergeant (ret.) Elmer Smith; one daughter, Melissa Smith of Montgomery, Ala.; one son, William A. Martin of Montgomery, Ala.; one sister, Sharon Kay Owen of Mount Washington; three brothers, Gary Palmer and Terry (Ronda) Palmer, both of Louisville, and Larry (Mary) Palmer of Taylorsville; one granddaughter, Alexandria “Ali” Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville with Bro. Chad Goodlett officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 6610 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL. 36116.
The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
