Friday, July 1, 2016, 11:30 a.m. — Two people were injured Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Old Bloomfield Road at Dugan Lane. At 9:42 emslogoa.m., Nelson County Deputy Sheriff Jon Snow was driving on Old Bloomfield Road and rolled up on a vehicle overturned resting on its roof in the middle of the roadway. The operator of the 1999 Oldsmobile was traveling eastbound on Old Bloomfield Road when the vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the road. The driver overcorrected, causing the car to skid and overturn.

The driver, Nancy Morrell, 55, of Bardstown and her passenger, a juvenile granddaughter, were transported by Nelson County EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The Northeast Nelson Fire Department responded due to smoke coming from under the overturned vehicle’s hood. Firefighters cut the battery cables and cleaned up hazardous vehicle fluids. Deputy Jon Snow is investigating the accident.
