County firefighters respond Monday for vehicle fire on Hobbs Lane

Monday, July 4, 2016, 2 a.m. — The Nelson County Fire Department responded early Monday for a vehicle on fire in the 400 block of Hobbs Lane in Cox’s Creek. Firefighters and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched for a reported car fire at 1:02 a.m. The car was pulled off the roadway and no one was around it. The vehicle was completely engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived. The blaze was extinguished and the vehicle removed from the side of the road. There was no sign of the driver in the area when first-responders arrived. There were no injuries reported.
