Thursday, July 7, 2016 — Due to the amount of rainfall the area has received, Bardstown City Hall is reminding residents to be mindful that trapped or standing water is an ideal breeding ground for the growth of mosquitoes.
Please make sure that items that can hold water — including tires, kiddie pools, garbage cans without lids, pet dishes, bird baths, etc. — are removed or emptied of any water they contain.
The city is also asking homeowners and businesses to make sure their roof gutters are working effectively and not clogged with debris. Clogged gutters also create conditions perfect for mosquito growth and development.
The City of Bardstown will next conduct mosquito spraying operations on the night of Thursday, July 14, 2016.
