Obituary: Opal Sarah White, 16, Willisburg

OPAL SARAH WHITE

Opal Sarah White, 16, of Gordon Ford Road, Willisburg, died Monday, July 11, 2016, due to injuries sustained in an automobile collision at the intersection of Highway 555 and Chaplin Road in Willisburg. She was born Oct. 27, 1999, in Lebanon. She was a sophomore at Washington County High School and a member of the Willisburg Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Douglas White Jr. on April 3, 2015; an infant brother, Paul Douglas White III on Sept. 4, 1987; her paternal grandmother, Opal Frances White on May 30, 1995; her maternal grandfather, Robert “Bobby” Cox on Sept. 25, 2014; and her maternal grandmother, Mary Helen Riley Cox, July 7, 2016.

Survivors include her mother, Donna Kay Cox White of Willisburg; one sister, Jennifer Lynn White of Willisburg; one brother, Johnathan Paul White (Katie) of Willisburg; her paternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Paul D. Sr. and Patsy White of Mount Eden; one niece, Dixie Grigsby; and two nephews, Darren Grigsby and Trenton White.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Willisburg Christian Church with Bro. Trent Baker officiating. Burial is in the White’s Lonesome Dove Cemetery at Willisburg.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Willisburg Christian Church.

Pallbearers are Ezra Chesser, Johnathan White, Mark Beasley, Alex Hamilton, Frank Grigsby and Dana Scott.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
