Obituary: Martha Evelyn Vittitow, 79, Bardstown

MARTHA EVELYN VITTITOW

Martha Evelyn Vittitow, 79, of Bardstown, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at her residence. She was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Bardstown. She was former owner of Boston Food Mart, a former employee for Barton Brands Distillery, and a member of Boston Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Witt and Daisy Vittitow; and one sister, Christine Barnes.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roger Herman Vittitow; one daughter, Debbie (Jack) Kindlesparker of Bardstown; one son, Roger Barry (Tina) Vittitow of Bardstown; four grandchildren, Lacey (Marc) Carter, Ryan (Amy) Vittitow, Jack Thomas (Kathy) Kindlesparker, and Kayla (Stan) Hurst; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown with burial in the Boston Christian Cemetery with the Rev. John Powell officiating.

Visitation is noon-6 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016, and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Alzheimer’s Association.
