HENRY T. MCLENDON

Henry T. McLendon, 82, of Bardstown, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Life Care Center of Bardstown. He was born June 10, 1934, in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He was retired from Owens-Illinois. He was a member of Bardstown United Methodist Church, a volunteer, tour guide and enjoyed hiking at Bernheim Forest. He was a very accomplished golfer who loved ballroom dancing. He was a true southern gentlemen and a very charitable and giving man, who liked to try many things, such as playing piano, dancing and flying, and most of all he enjoyed and cherished his granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jolaine Berry McLendon; and his parents, Henry and Evelyn McLendon Sr.

He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn McLendon of Louisville; one son, Hank McLendon of Edgewood; two sisters, Eleanor Flynt of Quarryville, Penn., and Sarah Lynn DeBour of Oak Island, N.C.; one granddaughter, Evelyn Jolaine McLendon; three nieces and two nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Bardstown United Methodist Church with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Stith officiating.

Visitation is 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may go toward Bernheim Forest, Bardstown United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, and National Parkinson Disease.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
