Bardstown man indicted Wednesday on child porn, sexual abuse charges

Wednesday, July 20, 2016, 11 p.m. — A Bardstown man was indicted Wednesday by a Nelson County grand jury on charges he sexually abused a minor and possessed child pornography.
Michael Scott, 37, of Bardstown was indicted on charges of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 16 years of age; possession of child pornography; and tampering with physical evidence.
According to the indictment, on Saturday, June 18, 2016, Scott allegedly engaged in sexual contact with another person under the age of 16 years old. The indictment alleges that Scott was in possession of matter that depicted an actual sexual performance by a minor, and that he attempted to conceal a cell phone from police by hiding it under a bed. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
Scott will be arraigned in Nelson Circuit Court on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016.
