Woman injured Friday night near Bloomfield in fall from a tree

Friday, July 22, 2016, 11:45 p.m. — A woman was injured Friday night after a fall of approximately 50 feet out of a tree. The accident happened at a northeastern Nelson County home on state Highway 1066.
At 10:04 p.m., Nelson County EMS and the Northeast Nelson Fire Department responded to the home on Highway 1066 for a report of a woman in her mid-40s who fell out of a tree. The woman had fallen earlier in the evening but was not discovered until some time later. The woman suffered multiple injuries from the fall. EMS transported the victim to Bloomfield Elementary School and transferred her to a waiting medical helicopter. She was flown from the scene to University Hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries.
