Breckinridge County woman suffers minor injuries in early morning crash

Monday, July 25, 2016, 1 p.m. — A Breckinridge County woman suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident early Monday morning on the Bluegrass Parkway.

At 4:51 a.m., the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported accident near mile marker 21 in the parkway’s westbound lanes. A 1997 Eagle Talon, operated by Kaelann Herrera of Hudson, lost control of her vehicle after she fell asleep at the wheel. The car entered the median, causing Herrera to hit her head. Nelson County EMS responded, and Herrera was transported to the hospital by her parents for evaluation of her injuries.

Deputy Sheriff Chris Conway investigated the accident.
