Incumbents file to keep seats on Bloomfield council, Fairfield commission

Thursday, July 28, 2016, 2 p.m. (Corrected July 30, 2016) — With eight business days left to file as a candidate for local, non-partisan races at the Nelson County Clerk’s office, 2016-election-with-flagtwo incumbents have filed to keep their respective seats.

BLOOMFIELD CITY COUNCIL.  Jim Glisson of Bloomfield has filed to keep his seat on the Bloomfield City Council.

Glisson, 74, of Fairfield Hill Road, filed his candidacy paperwork Wednesday at the Nelson County Clerk’s office. Glisson is one of six council members. The commissioners serve two-year terms, and all six seats will be on the November ballot.

FAIRFIELD CITY COMMISSION.  Paul Kiener has filed to keep his seat on the Fairfield City Commission in the Nov. 8 election.

Kiener, 67, a resident of West Main St., filed his candidacy paperwork at the Nelson County Clerk’s office on Thursday. Kiener is one of four elected commissioners, all of whom serve two-year terms and will be on the November ballot.

The deadline to file for the non-partisan local offices on the November ballot is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.
