Obituary: William Douglas ‘Doug’ Humphrey, 58, formerly of Bardstown

WILLIAM DOUGLAS “DOUG” HUMPHREY

William Douglas “Doug” Humphrey, 58, of Shepherdsville, formerly of Bardstown, died Sunday, July 31, 2016, at his home. He was born Oct. 21, 1957, in Bardstown to the late Clarence C. and Opal Downs Humphrey. He was a former mechanic for Jack Cooper Corporation. Horse trail riding was his passion along with camping at “The Rock” in Mammoth Cave. In addition to being a great mechanic, he was an overall handyman and a wonderful friend to many.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Head Humphrey; three sons, Corey (Brandie) Humphrey of Hillview, Jeremy (Brandy) Humphrey and Calvin Cody Humphrey of Shepherdsville; five sisters, Marlene Curtsinger, Karen (Joe) Moore, Gayle (Mike) Brady and Doris Cissell, all of Bardstown and Paula (Gary) Chesser of Florida; two brothers, David (Gwen) Humphrey of Lebanon Junction and Edgar Ray (Noreen) Humphrey of Bardstown; one granddaughter.
and one grandson he was raising, Jacob Humphrey of Shepherdsville.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Pastor Jaime Sicairos officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Rd, is in charge of arrangements.
