STAFF REPORT

Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, 2 p.m. — William Lutz filed his candidacy paperwork Tuesday to keep his seat as a Nelson County Soil Conservation 2016-election-with-flagSupervisor.

Lutz, 75, is a resident of Whitesides Road in Cox’s Creek and currently occupies one of the four conservation district supervisor seats that are up for re-election this November.

Soil conservation supervisors govern the Nelson County Soil Conservation District and serve a four-year term. If the number of candidates who file for soil conservation supervisor equal the number of vacancies, the county clerk certifies the supervisors elected and they will not be listed on the November ballot.

The deadline to file for the non-partisan local offices — city council, city commission, soil conservation district and city and county school boards — on the November ballot is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Voters who wish to update their voter registration information must do so at the Nelson County
Clerk’s office prior to 4 p.m. Oct. 11, 2016.
