Deputies respond Saturday morning for report of shots fired in Bloomfield

Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, 11:40 a.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of gunfire early Saturday morning in downtown Bloomfield near city hall and the fire station.

At 1:29 a.m., officers responded to multiple reports of as many as 10 gunshots in the area near city hall on Depot Street. Witnesses said at least two, possibly three vehicles, were in the area at the time the shots were heard and then left the area.

Officers canvassed the area and found no shell casings or other evidence of gun fire.
