Bardstown Police investigate early Friday morning shooting incident

Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, 3:30 a.m. — Bardstown Police are investigating a possible drug-related shooting that took place early Friday morning at a home in Rogan’s Mobile Home Park on the north side of Bardstown off North Third Street.

At 2:29 a.m., police, Nelson County EMS and Bardstown Fire units were dispatched for a report of a man in his early 20s who suffered a gunshot wound in the back. Witnesses told police the man who shot the victim fled the area on foot. EMS transported the victim to Flaget Memorial Hospital where they were met by a medical helicopter. The victim was flown on to University Hospital for evaluation and treatment. At this hour, officers remain in the area investigating the shooting.
