Obituary: Beatrice Tatum Russell, 95, Bardstown

BEATRICE TATUM RUSSELL

Beatrice Tatum Russell, 95, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Signature Colonial Health and Rehab in Bardstown. She was born April 29, 1921, in Mercer County to the late Ezra and Lillie Alice Click Tatum. She was a homemaker who actively worked on the farm. She was a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church for 60 years where she served in every capacity. She was the first president of PTA at Nelson County High School and a lifelong member of the PTA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee McClellan Russell; one son, Nicky Russell; four sisters, Martha Ann Tatum, Myrtle Tatum, Dorothy Mae Noel, Lillie Camden; two brothers, Ezra Tatum Jr. and Willie Tatum; and three grandchildren, Matthew Russell, Beth Russell and Keaton Hall.

She is survived two daughters, Mona (Glen) Stone and Marlene (Bryan) Hall, both of Bardstown; three sons, Tommy (Judy) Russell of Louisville, and Larry Russel and Mark Russell, both of Bardstown; one sister, Jewel Best of Harrodsburg; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at the Bloomfield Baptist Church with burial in Highland Memory Garden in Mount Washington with Bro. Richard Carwile and Bro. Leland Parks officiating.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Bloomfield Baptist Church.

The family request that expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Bloomfield Baptist Church Building Fund or the Keaton Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
