The new hotel will include a open-air lobby.

The new hotel is expected to open late next year or early 2018, according to a press release.

The hotel will feature an eco-friendly design called “Formula Blue.” The property will consist of 75-80 rooms with 20 percent of them suites.

The hotel will also include conference space, a swimming pool, Express Start breakfast bar with healthy breakfast options, a business center, and an ultra-modern open space lobby.

The projected opening for the hotel will be late 2017 to early 2018.

Patel has been a Bardstown resident since 1987, and the announcement of a new hotel fulfils a dream that began with his father.

“My father, the late Jay Patel for whom the investment group is named, had a dream to build a hotel here years ago,” Manoj Patel said through a press release. “I want to fulfill his dream and give back to the community that welcomed our family with open arms years ago. It is my way to have a legacy in Bardstown, a community that has helped my family prosper over the years.”

Patel said the hotel also fulfills his desire to help fuel the area’s economic group and help attract additional development. The new hotel will also meet the need for quality lodging options in the Bardstown area.

Dawn Przystal, executive director of the Bardstown-Nelson County Tourism Commission, said the hotel will help meet the growing demand for lodging as local tourism continues to grow.

“Our market research has pointed to the desire of our guests to have more lodging options. This property will go a long way to meeting those demands,” she said.

Kim Huston, president of the Nelson County Economic Development Agency said she and Pryzstal have been working with Patel on the hotel project for a couple of years,

“As our county continues to grow so rapidly, we are seeing a critical need for additional accommodations. The Holiday Inn franchise has a first-class reputation and this new facility has been thoughtfully designed and loaded with amenities that will be appealing to a family with children or to a corporate client.”
