DAVID ALBERT BENEDICT
David Albert Benedict, 53, of Doctor Street, Springfield, died at 3:15 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at the home of his son in Raywick. He was born in Lebanon on Dec. 21, 1962, to Robert Edward and Lou Purdom Benedict. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, a 1981 graduate of Washington County High School and a former rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Benedict (Aug. 18, 1993); one brother, Thomas Edward Benedict (Feb. 21, 2016); his maternal grandparents, Tom and Mary Elizabeth Purdom; and his paternal grandparents, Edd and Corine Benedict.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Spalding Benedict; one daughter, Amber Ervin (Jay) of Rineyville; one son, Robby Benedict (Michelle) of Raywick; his parents, Lou and Beaman Dearinger of Bardstown; and five grandchildren, Lily Hamilton, Kayla Hamilton, Justice Hamilton, Jaiden Benedict and Landan Benedict.
A memorial service is 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. Cal Adams, pastor of the Temple Baptist Church, officiating.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of the arrangements.
