Obituary: Judy Shumate Clark, 70, Springfield

JUDY SHUMATE CLARK

Judy Shumate Clark, 70, of Hillsboro Lane, Springfield, died at 6:47 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at her home after an illness. She was a native of Nelson County. She was born Dec. 16, 1945, to the late Willie and Anna B. Simpson Shumate. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church, a 1964 graduate of Old Kentucky Home High School and an employee of North Washington Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Jones and Betty Lewis; and one brother, Robert Lawrence “R.L.” Shumate.

Survivors include, her husband, Jimmie D. Clark; one daughter, Patricia Lewis of Willisburg; three sisters, Barbara Keeling (Eugene) of Bardstown, Janice Curtsinger (John) of Mackville and Mary Etta Pyle of Lebanon; one brother, Joe Shumate (Dorothy) of Springfield; and one granddaughter, Kathryn Lewis of Willisburg.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at the Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Tobe Yankey and the Rev. Bryan Wittekind officiating. Burial is in the Peter Cemetery in Mackville.

Pallbearers are Steve Settles, Logan Keeling, Kelley Keeling, Ryan Reed, Bobby Reynolds and Kevin Edelen.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, and 11 a.m.- 2p.m. Monday at the Springfield Baptist Church.

Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
