Community news
Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 — Grab your golf clubs and mark the date for the 2016 Rev. Ken Blanton Memorial Golf Scramble on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Cedar-Fil Golf Course.
The event is a fundraiser for Bethany Haven, Nelson County’s only transitional housing for homeless families.
The scramble begins at 9 a.m. sharp at Cedar-Fil, 2338 New Shepherdsville Rd, Bardstown. The cost is $25 per golfer for green fee and half a riding cart. The green fee will be paid directly to Cedar-Fil, so Cedar-Fil members play for no fee.
Churches and groups are asked to email the names of their four-person teams along with the name of the group or church to bethanyhaven@att.net.
In addition to a great golf outing, there will be a 50/50 drawing, prizes, and lunch afterward.
Businesses or groups interested in helping sponsor the event should contact Bethany Haven at bethanyhaven@att.net.
