Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, 4 p.m. – The Bardstown City Council held a lengthy meeting Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016. The council gave initial approval to measure that will double the city’s occupational tax rate; received an update on the 911 agreement negotiations; discussed police department body cameras; the police department Facebook page and relation with the media; an update on the search for a new police chief; and listened to a presentation on the benefits of a needle/syringe exchange program to fight the spread of disease among IV drug users. Running time: 3 hours and 6 minutes.
