Obituary: Kenneth Paul Ruley, 69, Loretto
Kenneth Paul Ruley, 69, of Loretto, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon from injuries sustained in a farm tractor accident. He was born Aug. 25, 1947, in St. Francis. He was a retired dairy farmer. He and his family have hosted “Ruley’s Santa Claus Land” for more than 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Bertha Downs Ruley; three sisters, Jeanette Hefern, Delores McCauley and Helen Hogan; and one brother, Charlie Ruley.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Darnell Hardin Ruley; four daughters, Sandy Gootee (Tommy) and Paula Ruley, both of St. Francis, Stacey Bischoff (Tim) of Bardstown and Rhonda Bryan (Joe Paul) of New Haven; four sisters, Mary Jo Hayden of Mount Washington, Faye Hayden (Jim) of Louisville, Joyce Miles of Raywick and Jean Smith of South Carolina; one brother, Lawrence Ruley (Martha) of Bardstown; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis. Burial is in the church cemetery with the Rev. Ken Fortener officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorial donations may go to donor’s favorite charity.
Pallbearers are Justin Alcala, Dakota Bryan, Christopher Brady, Joe Paul Bryan, Hunter Bryan and Tim Bischoff.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
