Obituary: Marion Davis Creech, 78, Bloomfield
Marion Davis Creech, 78, of Bloomfield, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, in Nicholasville. He was born July 2, 1938, in Nelson County to the late Fred and Martha Belle Marion Creech. He retired after 41 years with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as a senior inspector. He served with the Army National Guard and was an elder in the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. He was a former coordinator of Nelson County 4-H Shooting Sports for 27 years and was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Grace Creech; and a niece, Michelle Carney.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Carney Creech; one son, Marion Davis (Allison) Creech II of Louisville; one sister, Dr. Fredericka (Phil) Lockett of Fairfield; two grandsons, Marion Davis “Trey” Creech III and Elijah Day Creech; one niece; and three nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with burial in the Maple Grove Cemetery with Bro. Leland Parks officiating.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at the Houghlin Funeral Home.
