One arrested following early morning Bardstown pawn shop burglary

Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, 12:30 p.m. — One person was arrested following a police investigation of an early morning break-in Monday at Bourbon City Pawn, 117 Banjo St. bardstownpolicepatchPolice responded for the active alarm at the store at 4:45 a.m. Officers arrived to find an audible alarm and a front window that was apparently shot out during the break-in attempt.

A witness told police a small white car left the area with its lights off. Officers located a vehicle matching the description at the end of Banjo Street, and detained an 18-year-old suspect at that location who had a cut on one hand. Nelson County EMS responded to the scene to attend to the individual’s injury.

Police arrested William C. McMillan, 18, on charges of first-degree burglary. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
