THOMAS SCOTT “BRILLO” BALLARD

Thomas Scott “Brillo” Ballard, 56, of Loretto, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. He was born Jan. 5, 1960, in Marion County. He was a dedicated employee of R & B Trucking of Loretto.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. and Nora Belle Ballard; one sister, Margaret Newton; and one brother, Stanley Ballard.

Survivors include five sisters, Kathy Ballard of Leitchfield, Janet Cecil (Larry) of Dant Station, Gail Taylor (David) of Balltown, Ann Kilkelly (Ken) and Susan Hamilton (Bill) all of Bardstown; seven brothers, Wayne Ballard (Beverly) of Rineyville, Alan Ballard (Yvonne) of Forsyth, Ga., Kurt Ballard (Jan) of Culvertown, Richard Ballard of Louisville, Robert Ballard (Sandy) of Lebanon, Brian Ballard (Sharon) of Loretto and Stan Ballard of Bardstown; and many friends and especially Kyle and Olivia Edlin who were very special to him.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with burial in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in St. Francis with the Rev. Bryan T. Lamberson officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
