Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 — Four Bardstown businesses have been named in a list of America’s 80 Best Bourbon Bars by Bourbon Review magazine. The announcement comes during National Bourbon Heritage Month, and while The Kentucky Bourbon Festival is underway in Bardstown.

The four Bardstown bars honored by Bourbon Review’s list of America’s top Bourbon bars include:

The Old Talbott Tavern
Harrison-Smith House
Kentucky Bourbon Marketplace
The Rickhouse Restaurant & Lounge

Twenty-three of the magazine’s Top 80 Bourbon bars are located in Kentucky. Eight are located in Louisville; five in Lexington; four in Bardstown; two in Covington, and one each in Owensboro, Newport, Danville and Harrodsburg.

In honor of National Bourbon Heritage Month and the magazine’s list of America’s top Bourbon bars, Bourbon Review and Four Roses Bourbon will host a nationwide “toast” on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. Bourbon fans are encouraged to take part by tagging their favorite bourbon bar from the list using the hashtag #80Toast.

In addition to the toast, Four Roses Bourbon and The Bourbon Review are planning to visit select bars on the Top 80 list during September and October.

“We are proud to once again partner with The Bourbon Review to help celebrate its Top 80 list,” said Brent Elliott, master distiller, Four Roses Bourbon. “It’s an honor to recognize and toast these establishments who take their Bourbon as seriously as we do.”
