Obituary: Mary Helen McGee Riggs, 78, Boston

Mary Helen McGee Riggs, 78, of Boston, was called home Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at her home. She was a member of Boston Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Patrick Riggs; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Riggs; her parents, Thomas Merritt and Katie Hughes McGee; and eight siblings.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Ann Yates and Vanessa Carol Downing; three sons, William Joseph Riggs (Julie), Robert Alvin Riggs and Daniel Wayne Riggs (Weiland); one sister, Threasa Rawhoof; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and various nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Boston with Chaplain Terry Troutman officiating. Burial is in the St. Clare Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Kappel Funeral in Boston is in charge of the arrangements.
