Man critically injured Monday when hit by car following domestic dispute

Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, 6 p.m. — A man believed to be in his late 30s was seriously injured Monday afternoon when he was struck and run over by a passenger vehicle in the area of Camptown Road and Redmon Court.
Bardstown Police, Bardstown Fire and Nelson County EMS were initially dispatched at about 1:26 p.m. to the area of Camptown Road and Redmon Court for domestic dispute. While first-responders were on the way, that call was upgraded to a report of a man run over by a vehicle.
First-responders were first dispatched at 1:26 p.m. for an apparent domestic incident on Redmon Court. Minutes later they were advised of a man trapped under a Kia Soul in the 400 block of Camptown Road.
The first emergency crews on the scene found the victim under the vehicle and used their rescue tools to lift the vehicle off the man. The victim was transported by EMS to meet a medical helicopter at Flaget Memorial Hospital and then flown to University Hospital with what police described as life-threatening injuries.
The woman who was driving the vehicle was questioned about the incident. The vehicle involved in the incident was impounded.
Bardstown Police are continuing their investigation.
