Obituary: Iva Jewell Curtsinger Walls, 82, Woodlawn
Iva Jewell Curtsinger Walls, 82, of the Woodlawn Community of Nelson County, died at 3:27 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was a Washington County native born May 28, 1934, to the late Clell and Lena Mae Settles Curtsinger. She was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ruth Curtsinger; and two brothers, Roland Curtsinger and Davis Curtsinger.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Tommy Walls; two daughters, Penny Childress (Chris) and Pamela Childress (Mike), both of Hodgenville; two sons, Glenn Walls (Beverly) of Hawkins, Texas and Col. Timothy Walls (Kathy) of Fort Riley, Kan.; two sisters, Edith Votaw of Springfield and Evelene Wall (Sherman) of Louisville; one brother, Melvin Curtsinger (Eleanor) of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Carrie Carrington, Katie Harlan, Cassie Fahnert, Kellie Miller, Charity Wilkerson-Bienick, Tabitha Walls, Thomas Childress, Joey Childress and Nick Childress; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. Danny Haynes officiating assisted by Bro. Gary Chesser. Burial is in the New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at the funeral home.
