Obituary: George Eugene Brown, 87, Bardstown
George Eugene Brown, 87, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at his residence. He was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Louisville to the late Everett Leslie and Elsie Mae Young Brown. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Flaget Memorial Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Wimsatt.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Murphy Brown; one daughter, Angela Jean Wimsatt of Bardstown; one son, Martin L. Brown of Lebanon Junction;
four grandchildren, John Wimsatt, Matthew (Dena) Wimsatt, Amanda Wimsatt, and LeAnn (Sean) O’Bryan; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary O’Bryan, Josh O’Bryan, Danielle Sykes, Sophie Sykes, Isabella Coffee, Marky Coffee and Breanna Smith.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Rd. with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at the funeral home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
