Mary Regina Cecil, 78, Bardstown

Mary Regina Cecil, 78, of Bardstown died Friday, May 20, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.

She was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Nelson County. She was a lifelong homemaker. She was previously employed on the bottling line at Willett’s Distillery and was a member of St. Thomas Parish.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Rosie Lyvers Reid, a brother, Adrian Reid and a sister, Mary Ida Reid.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Francis G. Cecil of Bardstown; two sons, Joseph Michael Cecil and Thomas Francis Cecil, both of Bardstown; one daughter, Mary Joann Sims of Bardstown; two sisters, Pauline Cahoe and Mary Lucy Ballard, both of Bardstown; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011, St. Thomas Church with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Reverend Ben Brown will be the celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m. by Deacon Sam Filiatreau.
