MONDAY, SEPT. 26, 2016

DUI. Bardstown Police arrested a man on alcohol-related charges following a traffic stop Monday evening, Sept. 26, 2016.

bardstownpolicepatchAccording to the citation, Bardstown Police Officer Andrew Eckart stopped a Dodge pickup truck operated James S. Jewell, 50, address unknown, after he observed Jewell make a left turn on a red light at North Third Street and Flaget Avenue. According to the citation, the officer detected the smell of alcohol on Jewell, who admitted he had been drinking earlier in the day. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc.; driving on a DUI-suspended license; and disregarding a traffic light. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

FUGITIVE ARRESTED. A Summersville man was arrested Monday morning, Sept. 26, 2016, on an active arrest warrant out of Indiana after Bardstown Police were called to check on the man.

According to the citation, officers were dispatched at 9:16 a.m. to Walmart for a report of suspicious person. Officers found the man, Jonathan Lee Hicks, 30, at the store. He told officers he was dropped off at the store earlier and was trying to find a ride home. Officers believed Hicks to be under the influence of drugs, and Nelson County EMS was called to check the man. Hicks refused treatment by EMS.

A records check of the man revealed he had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Indiana. He was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 27, 2016

DRUG ARREST. A Bardstown man was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 as a result of a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Caldwell Avenue.

According to the citation, officers conducting a search warrant of the home found several pill bottles with labels removed or partly remove, one of which contained a white powder. Officer also located a bag that was believed to contain marijuana.

Timothy Michael Harris, 48, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; and illegal possession of a legend drug. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

SHOPLIFTING. A Bardstown man and his girlfriend were arrested on theft-related charges Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 27, 2016.

Aundrea Breann Lydian, 20, and Trevor G. Cheatham, 5/11/95, both of Bardstown, were allegedly observed concealing items in a purse and leaving the Bardstown Kroger store without paying for the item. Lydian and Cheatham were arrested and charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking under $500 – shoplifting. They were lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 28, 2016

DRUG CHARGES. A Bardstown man was arrested Wednesday evening, Sept. 28, 2016, on drug charges.

According to the citation, Garry W. McClain, 63, of Bardstown, was arrested on an indictment warrant for one charge of trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

DRUG CHARGES. A Horse Cave man was cited to Nelson District Court Wednesday afternoon on drug-related charges while he was parked at Dean Watts Park.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police were called to Dean Watts Park for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When the Officer Reece Riley made contact with the driver, identified as Kristopher L. Blakey, of Horse Cave, Riley smelled the odor of marijuana. After a drug K-9 hit on the vehicle, a search turned up a marijuana joint and a glass pipe inside the vehicle. Blakey was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is Oct. 18, 2016.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 29, 2016

DUI. A Bloomfield man was arrested early Thursday morning, Sept. 29, 2016, on alcohol-related charges following a traffic stop.

According to the citation, at about 1:15 a.m., a vehicle driven by Gary W. Gowen, 51, of Bloomfield was observed weaving as it traveled north on Bloomfield Road. Gowen allegedly failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc.; careless driving; and no registration plates. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

DUI. A Bardstown woman was arrested early Thursday morning, Sept. 29, 2016, on alcohol-related charges.

According to the citation, police observed a vehicle operated Kyra Greenwell, 42, of Bardstown, swerving from side to side and speeding while traveling on East John Rowan Blvd. During a subsequent traffic stop, the Bardstown Sgt. Jeremy Cauley noticed a strong odor of alcohol. A breath test confirmed a presence of alcohol. Greenwell was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 30, 2016

DRUG POSSESSION. A Bardstown man was arrested early Friday morning, Sept. 30, 2016, on drug-related charges.

According to the citation, Jerry B. Parkerson, of Bardstown, was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of cocaine and marijuana. He was charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

DRUG POSSESSION. A Bardstown woman was cited to Nelson District Court on drug-related charges early Friday morning, Sept. 30, 2016.

According to the citation, a Nissan operated by Elizabeth M. Wright, of Bardstown, was pulled over after police observed it having only one operating headlight. During the stop, police observed open alcohol containers in the passenger side floor. A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a marijuana grinder. Wright was cited for possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle; and one headlight.

DUI. A Bardstown man was arrested early Friday morning, Sept. 30, 2016, on alcohol-related charges stemming from a traffic stop.

According to the citation, Michael Anthony Marshall of Bardstown was allegedly observed operating a vehicle on Bloomfield Road with a temporary tag with no expiration date. Marshall alleged failed field sobriety tests; a breath test confirmed the presence of alcohol. Marshall was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
