Charles Marion Newton, 55, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at his residence. He was born Aug. 13, 1961, in Nelson County. He was a former construction worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Paschal Newton Sr. and Margaret W. Weathers Newton; two sisters, Gloria Clark and Mary W. Greenwell; and one brother, Ronald Newton.
Survivors include one daughter, Renee Johnson of Bardstown; two sons, C.J. Johnson of Bardstown and Andy Johnson of New Haven; two sisters, Katie Ball (Evan) of Cox’s Creek and Tammy Jackson of New Haven; two brothers, James P. Newton of Nelson County and Stephen Newton (Ann) of Holy Cross; one granddaughter, Kara Johnson.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto with the Rev. Bryan T. Lamberson officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials donations may go toward funeral expenses.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
