Driver, passengers injured in early morning Stringtown Road crash

Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, 3:15 p.m. — A Bardstown man and several of his passengers were injured early Sunday morning after he crashed while swerving to avoid hitting a deer in the roadway.
According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy C. Tabler, 18, of Bardstown was driving north in the 2100 block of Stringtown Road at about 1 a.m. when a deer ran in front of his vehicle. Tabler tried to avoid the deer and his truck left the right side of the road into a ditch, where it continued to travel north until it struck a culvert and a tree.
According to the police report, Tabler suffered possible facial injuries. His passengers, Matthew Farnsworth, 20, of Bardstown suffered possible injury to his abdomen; Alec Tipton, 18, of Bloomfield, suffered a possible hand injury; and Matthew Cammack, 20, of Bardstown, who suffered a possible head injury. Passenger Jeremiah Vittitow, 18, of Bardstown was uninjured. All of the vehicle’s occupants were taken by private vehicle to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
