MARY CATHERINE JANES MASTERSON
Mary Catherine Janes Masterson, 94, of Bardstown, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Windsor Gardens in Bardstown. She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Springfield to the late Harry S. and Rosa Horan Janes. She was a retired field operator for AT&T and was a member of the Pioneer Club. She was also a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Windsor Garden’s for their excellent care.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her brother, John P. (Ruth) Janes of Lexington; one niece, Jennifer Vonnahme of Cincinnati; one nephew, Roger (Susan) Vonnahme of Louisville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw as celebrant. Burial is in the St. Rose Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road. A prayer service is Monday evening at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Michael Catholic Church.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
