FRANCES MAE FULKERSON

Frances Mae Fulkerson, 76, of Cox’s Creek, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at University of Louisville Hospital. She was born Nov. 16, 1939 in Nelson County to the late William and Edith Adkins Stansbury. She was a former cafeteria cook at Cox’s Creek Elementary and an active member of New Salem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Victor Stansbury, Robert Stansbury, Charles Stansbury and Billy Ray Stansbury.

She is survived by her husband, Earnest Allen Fulkerson; one son, William Allen (Clara Mackin) Fulkerson of Cox’s Creek; one daughter, Connie (Terry) Smothers of Cox’s Creek; one brother, Lee Thomas Stansbury of Cox’s Creek; six grandchildren, Joshua Smothers, Emma (Shane) McCubbins, Tara Fulkerson, Kimmi Fulkerson, Krissi Fulkerson, Sarah Fulkerson; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and special nephews and niece, Ronnie Fulkerson, Diana Fulkerson and R.J. Fulkerson.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at New Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Jonathan Gann officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
