Obituary: Marie Beam, 88, Bloomfield

Marie Beam, 88, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Effie Colvin Goodlett and was born March 18, 1928, in Anderson County. She was a former beautician and a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Charity Gay Beam; one sister, Blanche Wright; and one brother, Billy Goodlett.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Beam; two daughters, Tonni (Harold T.) Coulter of Bloomfield and Gwen (Teddy) James of New Braunfell, Texas; two sons, David (Vicki) Dowell of Bristol, Tenn. and Sammy Beam of Hollywood, Calif.; one brother, Dr. Tom Ed (Carolyne) Goodlett of Shelbyville; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with David Dowell and Adam Carter officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
