Obituary: William Taylor ‘Billy’ Thompson, 60, Bardstown

William Taylor “Billy” Thompson, 60, of Bardstown, died at 10:12 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was born July 15, 1956, in Louisville to the late Raymond and Christine Case Thompson. He was a contractor.

Preceding him in death was his son, James Michael Thompson on December 1, 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Sapp Thompson; two daughters, Christa Thompson (Jeff Poston) of Morgantown and Nicole Hamilton (Justin) of Bardstown; one sister, Linda Armstrong (Eddie) of Taylorsville; one brother, Raymond Thompson Jr. of Sebring, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Sammy Hamilton, Haley Hamilton and Benjamin Taylor Hamilton and Devin Poston.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the Anchor Of Hope Church with the Rev. Ricky Cheatham, the Rev. Kathy Cheatham and the Rev. Tina Standiford officiating. Burial is in the Thompson Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Eddie Armstrong, Jacob Armstrong, Willie Lutes, Charles Thompson, Jeff Poston, Zachary Redmon, Jerry Redman and Conner Duncan.

Visitation is after noon Thursday at the Anchor Of Hope Church.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
