Obituary: Cheri Allyn Collard Davidson, 64, Cox’s Creek

CHERI ALLYN COLLARD DAVIDSON

Cheri Allyn Collard Davidson, 64, of Cox’s Creek, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born Jan. 30, 1952, in Louisville to the late Carl E. and Mary Martha Horn Collard. She was the vice president of Risk Management Quality Control at Flaget Memorial Hospital/KentuckyOne Health for 17 years as well as a nurse for 37 years. She held the rank of major of the U.S. Army and National Guard with 13 years of service including Desert Storm.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Leitchfield. She was an artist who loved to paint and saw the beauty in all of God’s creations and an animal lover.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a nephew William Scott Swift.

She is survived by her husband, Ferris Davidson; two sisters, Carla (Stephen) Collard Hornback of Cox’s Creek and Candy (Ralph) Collard Swift of Leitchfield; one nephew, Stephen Samuel Hornback of Louisville, two nieces, Virginia Rachel Hornback of Elizabethtown and Gail Swift Edwards of Leitchfield two great-nieces and a great-nephew; and her beloved pet cat, Callie.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Dr. James Carroll officiating. The private burial is in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation is 1-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family requests contributions go to Barktown Rescue or Flaget Cancer Center in her memory.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
