Deputy sheriff injured Sunday morning in collision near St. Thomas Lane

Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, 10 a.m. — A Nelson County Deputy Sheriff was injured Sunday morning in an injury accident on New Haven Road near St. Thomas Lane.
Nelson County EMS, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and Bardstown Police responded at 10:13 a.m. Sunday morning to a two-vehicle crash.
According to Nelson County Sheriff Ed Mattingly, Deputy Brian Adams was driving south on New Haven Road, responding to an emergency call in New Haven. As he passed a line of vehicles in a passing zone, an area resident attempted a left turn as Adams was passing her vehicle. Adams’ cruiser left the roadway and traveled down a ditch line before coming to rest. Adams was treated at the scene by Nelson County EMS and transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital with complaints of back and neck pain. He was treated at Flaget and released, Mattingly said Monday morning.
The female driver of the other vehicle complained of head pain.
The Kentucky State Police in Elizabethtown are investigating the accident.
