Obituary: William Paul Hagan, 91, New Haven
William Paul Hagan, 91 of New Haven, died November 9, 2016, at Windsor Gardens in Bardstown. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven. He was a retired special inspector for the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Department, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post in Bardstown and a former New Haven city commissioner. His legacy is displayed in the achievements and demonstrated good works and accomplishments of his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Hagan; his wife, Miriam Dawson Hagan; one sister Mary Ann Hall; two sons, Joseph Raphael Hagan and Joseph Ignatius Hagan; and four brothers, Edward, Marion, Thomas and Johnny Hagan.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Nusz (H.R.) and Helen Hagan, both of Louisville, and Martha Stiles (Lanny) of New Hope; four sons, Dr. Patrick L. Hagan (Gianina), Fred Hagan (Pat), Steve Hagan (Mary) and Dr. Bill Hagan (Brenda), all of Bardstown;two sisters, Sr. Agnes Marie Hagan of Louisville and Sr. George Mary Hagan of Maple Mount.; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at St. Catherine Church in New Haven with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, 324 Center St. in New Haven with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Catherine Church, 174 N. Main St., New Haven.
Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
