Obituary: Alma Schuler, 96, Nerinx

Alma Schuler, 96, of Nerinx, died peacefully Sunday night, Nov. 13, 2016, at the Loretto Motherhouse. She was the first staff member at Bellarmine College and a loyal and devoted employee from 1950 until her retirement in 1973. She then continued her willing work at St. James Catholic Church. She was a co-member of the Sisters of Loretto for more than 25 years and she moved to the Loretto Motherhouse in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo J. Schuler and Lillian Olges Schuler; two sisters, Sr. Rose Alma, SL and Sr. Leoann, SL; and one brother, Leo J. Schuler, Jr.

Survivors include two sisters, Becky Schuler Blair and Sally Schuler Price (John); two nieces; three nephews; three great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

Visitation is 4:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at St. James Catholic Church (Bardstown Road at Edenside), followed by the celebration of Mass at 6 p.m. with burial at Calvary Cemetery at a later time.
