Obituary: Mary Emma Graves, 92, Manton
Mary Emma Graves, 92, of Manton, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at her residence. She was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Marion County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and upholstering. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Manton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward “Buck” Graves; one son, Eddie Graves Jr.; her parents, Joseph T. and Mary Elizabeth Gootee Mattingly; her stepmother, Mary Lilly Graves Mattingly; and one sister, Rose Kelty.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Graves of Manton, one son, Donnie Graves of Manton; seven grandchildren, Tim (Merry Jo), Terry (Chris), Tracy (Meagan), Nicholas (Christy), Tiffany and Thomas Graves all of Springfield, and Quentin Graves of Columbia; and one daughter-in-law, Louise Graves of Springfield.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 6964 Cissellville Road, Manton, with the Rev. Matthew Hardesty officiating. Burial is in St. Rose Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
