KSP seeks public’s help in investigation of Tommy Ballard shooting death

Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, 10:50 a.m. — The Kentucky State Police is asking for the public’s help in its investigation of the shooting death of Tommy Ballard, 54, Saturday on Ed Brent Road.
KSP is looking for individuals who may have been traveling between the 21 and 25 mile markers on the Bluegrass Parkway Saturday morning between 6:30 and 7 a.m. and observed individuals or vehicles along the roadway. If you have information, you can contact KSP at (270) 766-5078.
Ballard’s death is still classified as a death investigation, according to a KSP press release issued Monday morning.
Ballard was shot in the chest Saturday morning while hunting with his grandson on a farm on Ed Brent Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner. His grandson is not believed to have been involved or at fault in his grandfather’s death, according to KSP.
KSP detectives’ investigation as well as that of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, is ongoing.
