Dump truck driver injured in rollover crash Monday on Gap Knob Road

Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, 2 p.m. — The driver of a dump truck was severely injured Monday afternoon when the truck he was driving left the roadway and rolled over.

The accident happened at about 1 p.m. Monday on Gap Knob Road south of New Hope. Nelson County EMS, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and New Hope firefighters were dispatched to the single-vehicle rollover injury accident.

EMS treated the male victim at the scene and transported him to the New Hope ballpark to meet with a medical helicopter. The victim was flown to University Hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.

New Hope firefighters were assisted by members of the Rolling Fork Fire Department.
