City police locate, stop vehicle minutes after being reported stolen

Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, 1 p.m. — The Bardstown Police Department apprehended the juvenile driver of a stolen vehicle just minutes after the theft took place late Wednesday night.
At 11:44 p.m., Bardstown Police were advised of the theft of a 2002 Chevrolet Impala that had just been stolen from an address on Purcell Avenue.
Minutes later, a BPD officer on patrol spotted the vehicle on Honeysuckle Lane and attempted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle did not stop, but turned onto Fern Lea Circle where the car stopped and the operator fled the vehicle on foot. The juvenile was taken into custody and the vehicle was returned to the owner.
