Obituary: Geneva Lee Pottinger, 88, New Haven

Geneva Lee Pottinger, 88, of New Haven, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at Sunrise Manor Hodgenville. She was the former Geneva Skaggs, a lifelong resident of New Haven, a retired employee of the Bardstown Sewing Factory, and a member of First Baptist Church New Haven.

funeral_flowerShe was preceded in death by her husband, Butler R. Pottinger III; and three brothers, Harold Skaggs, Bill Skaggs and Kenneth Skaggs.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Denise Roggenkamp (Steve) of Georgetown; one son, Butler Ramey Pottinger IV (Donna); two sisters, Betty Pottinger and Rita Ann Malone; three grandchildren, Casey Clark, Quint Pottinger and Lee Roggenkamp; and two great-grandchildren, Haven Reece Clark and Adeline Jean “Della” Clark.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in New Haven with burial in the Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the WMU of First Baptist Church in New Haven.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of the arrangements.
