Obituary: Donna Ray, 73, Bardstown

DONNA RAY

Donna Ray, 73, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at her home. She was born Oct. 4, 1943, in Louisville. She was a graduate of Spencerian Business School and Jefferson Community College. She worked at and retired from Dixie Warehouse and Cartage as a supervisor. She also worked for Farley Maddox Land Development Co. Inc., and Jack Farley Real Estate/Commonwealth Homes. The skills she learned in real estate led to designing her present home in Bardstown. Her hobbies were swimming, reading, and gardening. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Sybil Fuston.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill Ray of Bardstown; one daughter, Laura Jean Ray of Bardstown; one granddaughter, Morgan Little Warren (Matthew) of Shelbyville; and numerous cousins and friends.

The funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, and 9-11 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
