TUESDAY, Nov. 15, 2016

DRUGS. A Bardstown man was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 on drug-related charges following a traffic stop.

According to the citation, Clayton D. Spalding, 18, of Bardstown, was stopped by Bardstown Police at 1:26 a.m. Nov. 15 after an officer observed him allegedly driving a 1969 Ford with historic plates for an use that fell outside the plate’s approved uses. During the traffic stop, the officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers located a small amount of marijuana, a glass pipe, and a handgun in the vehicle.

Spalding was arrested and charged with improper use of registration plate; no insurance; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; carrying a concealed weapon; and intermediate licensing violations.

THURSDAY, Nov. 17, 2016

ASSAULT, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF. A Bardstown man was arrested Thursday Nov. 17, 2016, on assault charges in connection with an argument.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police responded to a reported domestic incident at 4:15 p.m. on Nov. 15. According to witnesses, David J. Lydian, 36, grabbed the victim during an argument. When the victim and her mother fled the home, Lydian allegedly broke windows out of her car. Lydian was charged with criminal mischief, first-degree and assault, fourth-degree (domestic violence) no visible injury.

DRUGS. A Bardstown woman was arrested Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, on drug-related charges following a traffic stop.

According to the citation, at 9:48 p.m., Bardstown Police observed a vehicle operated by Marley Renee Johnson, 30, of Bardstown, heading south on North Third Street without its headlights on. During the traffic stop, the officer detected the smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. After obtaining consent to search, the officer found marijuana and a joint in the car, a baggie containing a white, crystalline substance, and a small box containing prescription controlled substances. Johnson was arrested and charged with failure to illuminate head lamps; possession of marijuana; possession of controlled substances, first-degree (methamphetamine); possession of controlled substances, second-degree (drug unspecified); possession of controlled substances, third-degree (drug unspecified); and prescription controlled substance not in proper container.

MONDAY, Nov. 21, 2016

SHOPLIFTING. Two women were arrested Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, for allegedly taking merchandise without paying for it from the Dollar General Store on Bloomfield Road.

According to the citation, Danielle White, 23, of Bardstown was observed by employees concealing merchandise in her purse and jacket as Hillary Danielle Carney, 36, of Mount Washington, allegedly stood in front of her to block the view of security cameras. White and Carney were arrested on one charge each of theft by unlawful taking under $500-shoplifting.

SHOPLIFTING. A Louisville couple were arrested Monday afternoon, Nov. 21, 2016, on theft and drug-related charges.

According to the citation, police were dispatched to the Bardstown Walmart for a shoplifting complaint. Brian Michael Mike, 38, of Louisville, allegedly attempted to push $800 worth of merchandise out of Walmart without paying. When noticed by store employees, Mike allegedly left the merchandise and went to Lowes. At that store he gathered more merchandise and attempted to leave that store without paying for it. When employees noticed, he left the cart and ran to a vehicle in the parking lot. Police located the vehicle and stopped it. Inside the vehicle, officers found a number of syringes and a baggie containing powdery residue. Mike was arrested and charged with shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia. The operator of the vehicle, Angela Dawn Hall, 44, also of Louisville, was arrested on one charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

ASSAULT. A Bardstown woman was arrested Monday afternoon, Nov. 21, 2016, on charges related to an alleged domestic assault.

According to the citation, at 3:59 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, police were dispatched to a home on West Broadway for fight in progress. Police arrived and separated the parties. After talking with a witness, officers advised Jessica C. Danner, 28, of Bardstown, that she was under arrest. Danner allegedly told officer she was not going to go to jail and began to fight and struggle with officers and threatened a nearby resident. She was arrested on one charge of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) minor injury; resisting arrest; menacing; and third-degree terroristic threatening.

ALCOHOL. A Bardstown man was arrested Monday evening, Nov. 21, 2016, on alcohol-related charges.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police responding Kurtz Avenue at 6:05 p.m. for a complaint of a man who was drinking and out of control. Officers located the man about a block on West Stephen Foster Avenue. Johnny J. Ruelas, 40, was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.

TUESDAY, NOV. 22, 2016

SHOPLIFTING. A Louisville man and a LaGrange woman were arrested on shoplifting charges Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016.

According to the citations, police responded to the Bardstown Walmart at about 9 p.m. on a shoplifting complaint. Store employees observed a man and woman conceal items in tote bags and leave without paying for them. Officers arrested Roy L. Curry, 41 of Louisville and Tiffany E. Richardson, 38, of LaGrange on one count each of shoplifting under $ 500.

TRESPASSING. A Bardstown man was arrested on trespassing charges Tuesday evening, Nov. 22, 2016.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police were at an address on Harding Street to serve an arrest warrant. A male subject answered the door when officers made contact. When the person who police were looking for arrived at the home, she was taken in custody. Officers asked her who else was supposed to be in the home, and she told them no one should be there. When police approached David J. Lydian, 36 of Bardstown, he became belligerent. He was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing, third-degree, and disorderly conduct, second-degree.

SHOPLIFTING. A Bardstown woman was arrested on theft-related charges Tuesday evening, Nov. 22, 2016.

According to the citation, Chelsae Hilbert, 19, of Bardstown was observed by Walmart employees taking merchandise and not paying for it. She was arrested on one county of shoplifting under $500.

TAMPERING. A Loretto man was arrested Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 23, 2016, in connection with an overdose incident that happened in the parking lot of Buzick Lumber.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police and Fire, and Nelson County EMS responded to the Buzick Lumber parking lot for a male subject who had overdosed. While first-responders were working with the victim, witnesses told police they observed Derek J. Downs, 31, of Loretto, remove items from the victim’s vehicle and throw them in shrubs next to the parking lot. Police found two syringes and a spoon with residue in the shrubs. Downs was arrested on one charge of tampering with physical evidence.

ALCOHOL. A Bardstown woman was arrested on alcohol-related charges early Thursday morning, Nov. 24, 2016.

According to the citation, a police officer observed Brittany E. Metcalfe, 30, of Bardstown, arguing with another woman in the parking lot behind Mammy’s Kitchen. The officer suggested several times for the woman find a ride home but she refused. Metcalfe was arrested and charged with one county of alcohol intoxication in a public place.

ALCOHOL. A Lexington man was arrested on alcohol-related charges early Thursday morning, Nov. 24, 2016.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police observed a vehicle operated by Charles Justin Burnside, 26, of Lexington, cross the white line as the vehicle was traveling east on KY 245, and the vehicle’s tags were expired. During the traffic stop, Burnside smelled of alcohol. After field sobriety tests were administered, Burnside was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc. and for expired registration.
